A visit to Tokiwa-za, the wooden kabuki playhouse that local people built in 1891. The plan is to show you the stage, the hanamichi walkway and backstage, and to explain the building and its history.

Where it takes place
Tokiwa-za
Takayama, Nakatsugawa, Gifu (street number to be confirmed)- JR Chūō Line, Nagoya → Nakatsugawa: about 50 min by Limited Express Shinano, about 1 h 15 min by rapid train
- Kitaena Kōtsū bus, Nakatsugawa Station → Takayama stop: about 19 min, ¥590
- Takayama stop → Tokiwa-za: about 1.6 km on foot (15–20 min)
- Last bus from Takayama: 19:16 on weekdays, 18:49 on the "holiday" (kyūjitsu) timetable; check which days that timetable covers, and the latest times
